Random Mac Shutdowns with Code -3: A Frustrating Issue

Are you experiencing random shutdowns on your Mac Pro with code -3 'Multiple temperature sensors exceeded the defined limit'? You're not alone. I've been going through a similar issue since installing MOTU Audio driver version 91429 from June 21, 2022.

Before I dive into my experience, let me say that I've tried everything to resolve this issue. I've reset the NVRAM and SMC, but something seems to be getting in the way. Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

My journey began when I noticed random shutdowns on my UltraLite MK4 with code -3. At first, it was intermittent, but soon it became frequent. I tried troubleshooting the issue by turning off the power and restarting the device, but that didn't work. The problem persisted even when I wasn't using the audio interface.

In an effort to resolve the issue, I went back to macOS 11, thinking that might be the culprit. However, the shutdowns continued, even when I was just idle. I then installed my favorite virtual synths, DP11, and the audio driver version 91429. That's when things took a turn for the worse.

Since installing the latest audio driver, my Mac Pro has shut down randomly every few hours with code -3 'Multiple temperature sensors exceeded the defined limit'. I've tried cleaning out the computer and fans as usual, but that didn't make a difference. Even after reinstalling macOS 12 on an external drive, the issue persisted.

It's worth noting that my TG Pro hasn't reported any abnormal fan readings throughout this ordeal, which suggests that the temperature sensors might not be the primary cause of the shutdowns.
